the story that I left behind

Oh! The hermit I finally became.

The soft solitude, only troubled by the birds singing on these hot yellow Summer days,

rocked the blurred and scattered crumbs of memory of my faraway youth.

Oh! The hermit I finally became.

The hermit who almost dared defy the trees adorning their colors of glory.

I could read in dancing falling leaves the story of my pride that I left behind.

Oh! The hermit I finally became.

At last, after these long months, the so much-wanted time of misery bit my face.

The ice of a puddle reflected my image of a slow decrepitude and my fear of hearing

soon the gates of hell creaking, creaking,

creaking!

and silence applauds

A

diamond

and deep eye

in the night of

the universe winks.

A tap of a baton

against Saturn's ring precedes

an inviting, faraway roar.

The celestial bodies are ready

to wiggle in a starlit symphony.

The majestic raven of gravity

animates comets and shooting stars.

The drums run the finale, and

the maestro black hole swallows

the last note, the last star,

in a muffled chord.

The lights are off.

The curtain

flaps and

falls.

poetry knows my name

Indeed, poetry knows my name.

My quill, in a hurry for fame,

Is inked for tirades.

White, after decades,

My page dies in the candle flame.

my white page dies in the candle flame.

I Forgive the Stars

I forgive the stars for being so far

I forgive those who left me alone

I forgive God for the wrong odds

I have enough pity

To forgive whatever breaks me

But I have no mercy

To forgive my mistakes
