A long time ago,
a star was born, the hope for
peace between people.
Hitherto, nothing has changed.
Herod's anger still triumphs.
Reflection
A fugitive snowfall covered the fields
with a white shroud. A nostalgic thought
when the Earth didn't suffer and cough
under smothering smoke, but
let her beauty sparkle
and rest to provide
new fruits, new food,
new flowers,
and new
feasts.
Nostalgia
A pastor once asked who Christ is for you.
Some replied the Savior.
Some replied a prophet.
Some replied a historical figure.
Some replied a mystic.
To me, He is just my best friend.
Survey
Joy for children and parents near a fireplace and a decorated Christmas tree with its flashing garland and a ton of beribboned gifts at its feet. And prayer, a thought, or an action for those who can, to those who are in sorrow of losses, to those who have no home or have for home a shelter against bombs.
Christmas Spirit
My mother often told me about the Christmases of her little childhood. Walking back on the snowy street after the midnight mass in the not-heated church -- not far, three or four hundred meters -- jumping in delight to enjoy the warmth of the wood burner and receive her Christmas gift: an orange.
